Stumptown NYC

My favorite coffee joint used to solely exist in Portland where it began. It has become so popular (not in a Starbucks sell out way) because of their perfectly brewed and hand roasted beans that it expanded to Seattle and now has opened one single little shop in Manhattan. The NYC Stumptown happened to be a few blocks from our hotel so we popped in one morning for my favorite cup of joe. It was as I remember, a small crowded hipster joint where the staff was tatted up and dressed obscurely like they are too cool for school...it was also the taste I remembered and love so much--almost overwhelming strong coffee that makes your mouth tingle with delight. All Manhattaners must find this tiny shop at the base of the Ace hotel. If you love coffee, all the cool kids are doing it.
