My new guilty snack obsession is with something salty this time. Trader Joe's Veggie root chips are so yummy I can eat the whole bag in one sitting. I purposely grab a handful then seal the bag and throw it to the very back of a top shelf so that I have to stand on a chair to get it back down. It's the only way it's out of sight out of mind. These chips are crispy, not oily, a perfect saltiness and variety of flavor with the different roots. I would mentally like to think that they're a "good for you snack" because root veggies are great for you. Indeed for a chip, they're not too shabby in the nutrition department. However they are still a SNACK! Don't fool yourself with the veggie title. They are not a serving of daily vegetables. They are a warm spot in my taste-bud heart though. Here's what Trader Joe's has to say about them...

Root Veggie Chips
Next time you reach for a snack, try a crunchy treat that
comes with an unexpected perk – vegetables! That’s,
at the same time, courtesy of your friends here at Trader
Joe’s and our earth-shatteringly cool Vegetable Root
Chips. Really, these are some pretty cool chips. Inside every bag
you’ll find just three things – root vegetables, oil and salt.
We feature five different root vegetables: sweet potato,
taro, batata and parsnip chips, with beet juice (that 5th root
veggie) for a natural burst of color. The chips are cooked
quickly to achieve excellent crunch, and lightly salted to
achieve ultimate flavor. Excellent for snacking and dipping,
Trader Joe’s Vegetable Root Chips are also intriguing as a
side dish with everything from burgers to steaks fresh off the
grill. But don’t stop there. Get creative – give them a good
crumble and use them in place of breadcrumbs for breaded
chicken, pork or fish. Low in sodium and a good source of
fiber, these kosher certified chips are snacks you can feel
good about enjoying. You’ll feel good about the price, too.
Each 7.5 ounce bag is $2.99, every day.
