The Dead Weather

In all this health talk we need a little dark, dreary, and good soul rock 'n roll. My boyfriend and I hit up the House of Blues, San Diego, last night to catch The Dead Weather show. I was seriously surprised and the AMAZING show they put on! The intimacy of the venue combined with their dark stage presence was unprecedented in my show experience. I'd describe them as the Adams Family with rhythm 'n blues. The lead vocalist, Alison Mosshart, is another bread of chick. She's a screamer, a seductress, and wildly entertaining all backed by the ingenious musicality of Jack White originally from The White Stripes. For a newly formed band, the musicianship is awesome. Their tight and all band members rotate and play multiple different instruments. They rocked HOB and the crowd bringing me a guttural feeling that everyone has and shouldn't tuck away inside - let out your angst (it's healthy =)! Check it out:

(no good youtube videos from the SD show posted yet so check out their talent via music video)

Here's a bit about the new band:
The Dead Weather is an American alternative rock supergroup formed in Nashville,Tennessee in 2009. Composed of Alison Mosshart (of The Kills and Discount), Jack White (ofThe White Stripes and The Raconteurs), Dean Fertita (of Queens of the Stone Age) and Jack Lawrence (of The Raconteurs and The Greenhornes)[1], The Dead Weather debuted at the opening of Third Man Records' Nashville headquarters on March 11, 2009. The band performed live for the first time at the event, immediately before releasing their debut single "Hang You from the Heavens".
