An unlikely ingredient--for your face!

Onions...you love 'em, a lot of people hate 'em.

I'm not asking you to eat them however...
Instead, please put them in your oatmeal then apply to your FACE! No joke, oatmeal clears clogged pores and the An anti-inflammatory properties in onions help heal acne scars. Use the following homemade recipe to pamper yourself--tip: this is an evening or afternoon application...who wants to smell like onions at 7 AM?



Yield: Approximately 8 applications
Ingredients:
  • 1 ounce. purified mineral water
  • 3 tablespoons. plain organic oatmeal
  • 1 medium onion, peeled
Instructions:
1. Boil water and pour over oatmeal, letting steep for five minutes.
2. Finely grind onion in a food processor, making a smooth puree. Add to the oatmeal while still warm.
3. If the mask is not thick enough, add some honey or green clay until the mask is thick enough to sit comfortably on your face.

The solution will stay fresh for one week in the refrigerator.

Here's another unlikely one: Mayo! I caution, only use this for very dry skin; it has oil!

Makes 1 application
2 tablespoons real mayonnaise
1 teaspoon baby oil

  • Combine both ingredients.
  • Smooth onto face, neck, rough elbows and knees or anywhere else you feel might benefit from it.
  • Leave for 20 minutes.
  • Rinse off thoroughly with tepid water.
