My boss' bulldog cookies


As I mentioned, I have discovered the best chocolate chip cookies EVER. Seriously...chunky, chippy, soft with crunchy edges, huge, and reminiscent of a squishy dog face--the bulldog! My boss brought these for a potluck a few weeks ago and people jumped on them! I shared one (they're monstrous) with my boss lady and fell in love with this cookie. Needing a dish for a child's birthday party yesterday, she eagerly shared the recipe...and now I'm sharing because everyone should be enlightened.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened *HERE'S SECRET #1: USE REAL BUTTER AND ADD 2 TBSP. EXTRA!
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract *HERE'S SECRET #2: ADD 3 TBSP. EXTRA VANILLA!
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups (12-oz. pkg.) Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels


Directions

PREHEAT oven to 375° F.
COMBINE flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in morsels and nuts. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.
BAKE for 10  minutes total but  *SECRET #3: HALFWAY THROUGH BAKING SCOOP THEM BACK INTO A CIRCLE then finish baking  until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely. 
OH MY GOD THESE ARE TO DIE FOR!
