Care for a spinning body

I've been working out a lot lately (mostly cardio which I know I need to balance with weights...I'm bad about that). Anyhow, I feel great, I've been getting sleep, eating healthy...but have I been eating the right things for a working body? Here are a few of the vital nutrients I make sure to have in my diet DAILY because of the exercise I am doing. When pushing your body it uses different and more of certain vitamins and minerals, as well as creates some unwanted free-radicals. Sodium, Potassium, Magnesium, and Calcium are four that must be replenished (especially if you're sweating a lot like I do in cycle). Vitamin C is essential, Sunshine and Vit. D--a supplement is OK if you've consulted your Doc, you do not want excess and a mostly pure form of sunshine will do the trick. Lots of water (please see the previous lengthy post as to why water is important). And, antioxidants to combat those free-radicals both in the daily environment as well as created by your own body. In addition, my knees have been a little sore this week so I'm adding in a pair that work well together--Glucosamine Chondroitin Sulfate and Essential Fatty Acids. Supplement forms of all of these work well but I try my darnedest to get them from the foods I eat. Let your food be your medicine!!
