Best Chocolate Chip Cookies I've ever made

Football season is here!! Wooohoo! But that also means indulging in food 'n goodies. I have a tradition  (started last year) of baking something for every away game and brining it to our family BBQ--I quickly gained the status of the "good girlfriend baker". Unfortunately with my new job I will be working most football Sundays. I'm pretty peeved about it and know it'll be a long day at work today when my mind and body want to be elsewhere with my family.

Although I can't be there in person I will be there in sugar baked goods. Here is a super simple but amazingly PERFECT chocolate chip cookie recipe. Man I want to eat this up for breakfast!!

3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup margarine or butter, softened
1/2 cup shortening
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
1 egg
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips (we used ghiradelli dark chocolate)
*any other morsels you desire*

How to--Heat oven 375. In a large bowl, combine brown sugar, sugar, margarine and shortening. beat until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and egg, blend well.

Add flour, baking soda, and salt, mix well. Stir in chocolate chips (and other morsels). Round dough in palms and drop onto ungreased cookie sheets.

Bake at 375 for 8 to 10 minutes. Cool a few minutes on cookie sheet then remove and cool longer on rack.
