Health Sloppy Joe's - so filling!

My mom's yummy and healthy recipe. It's a classic, satisfying the kid in you and it's wicked easy to boot!

HEALTHY SLOPPY JOSE'S (JOES)

burger buns
16 oz lean gr beef
1/2 c chopped onion
1 c (8oz can) tomato sauce
1/2 c your favorite chunky salsa
1 tbsp brown sugar
Ground black pepper to taste
*opt: add red kidney beans*


Instructions

In a large skillet sprayed with Pam, brown meat and onion.  Add tomato sauce, salsa, and brown sugar.   Lower heat and simmer 15-20 minutes.  Serve on burger buns.  (I’ve also used sourdough bread :)

Each serving equals 209 calories, 7gms fat, 17 grams protein, 19 grams carbohydrates, 567 mg salt, 2 gm fiber
