S'more please!!
What's your favoriet S'MORE recipe? Anything combining graham crackers, marshmellows, and chocolate in some variation is a s'more. No one person has taken credit for the creation of the s'more so make it just how you like it. With dark chocolate, white chocolate, toffee, mint, caramel, bananas, nuts, peanut butter, pineapple, cranberries, yadda yadda yadda...
Today - Aug. 10 - is national S'more day (who comes up with these days?). Take it as license to celebrate and eat! Don't over indulge however--I am about health and moderating even the yummiest and happiest things in life. No tummy aches please. Here's a little history while you enjoy that yummy treat:

The s'more apparently evolved more organically from Victorian sandwich cookies, in which jam or cream was slathered between split halves of a tea biscuit. When marshmallows became widely available in the early 1900s -- thanks to the innovative "starch mogul" method of mass production -- cooks seized upon the flavor as a new filling. Marshmallows were a pantry fixture by 1910, when employees at Earl Mitchell's Chattanooga Bakery reportedly starting dipping graham crackers in marshmallow and coating them in chocolate, thereby originating the inside-out s'more better known as a Moonpie.

A few years ago (maybe 2007?) when I was living in Boulder, I started using the term pb s'more to mean a s'more with peanut butter ;). We made lots of em while my friend was visiting from OK! Wish there was a good vegan marshmallow, but I haven't really liked the ones I've tried... :(
